Interested in Quitting?Help is available for anyone who would like to quit smoking through the Smoking Cessation Program at Thagard Student Health Center. Designed to significantly reduce smoking and tobacco use rates among FSU students, a one-on-one smoking cessation program was developed at FSU. By using proven intervention techniques, web-based cessation programs, and by providing support and encouragement, smoking cessation facilitators work with students who wish to quit smoking. Because of the limited funding, the cessation aids will be provided on a first come, first served basis. The smoking cessation program, however, is not dependent upon the availability of cessation aids and cessation facilitators are available year round. Contact Kevin Frentz at (850) 645-4973 for more information. For anyone who is concerned about gaining weight should they choose to quit smoking, nutrition counseling is available at no charge for students and a $35 fee for faculty and staff. Call (850) 644-8871 for more information. *The Smoking Cessation Program is also available to FSU faculty and staff. |
